PV solar panels (photovoltaic slar panels) generate more electricity when exposed to direct sunlight. For this reason installations in the UK should face south to at least some degree (within 90 degrees of south is acceptable). To maximise exposure to light it is necessary to ensure that trees or shrubs do not shade the panels from the sun.The number of pv solar panels installed depends on the type of panel and on the amount of electricity to be produced. Each kilowatt of electricity requires about 3 panels. Panels can be mounted on roofs, walls or other structures.
